Enough said of those individual fresh udon served in humble bowls at this famous and humble enterprise, we decided to give its new addition a try, which is Udon Steamboat! It might sound tad trite but yet not that platitudinal entirely, as it has incorporated somewhat a simple inventive twist to the ubiquitous steamboat that we usually have. Here, instead of the many side dishes that we need to get them all boiled and cooked in the ceramic pot, the feast kicks off with two bowls of silky cooked udon accompanied by a plethora of potluck ingredients over the steamboat stove. Interestingly, there is only one type of soup base used here, which we think is of Japanese mirin rather than miso. Reason being is that its rather sweet taste is more apparent than any other common steamboat soup. Sharing the same pot is the mixture of steamboat fare such as carrots, bean curd, radish, lots of onions, several chicken cutlets and huge spring onions. And this order is only upon minimum 2 pax, priced at MYR 18 each. Tired of just slurping in the usual noodle fare, try this out then!
